In 2013 Australian New York City resident Yael Stone played inmate 'Lorna Morello' in Orange Is the New Black. Yael is a graduate of NIDA. Since her early years, Yael has been lucky enough to work with the best storytellers in Australia, brilliant stars of the stage and visionaries behind the scenes in films TV, theatre, and film. Yael's professional career is thriving and thriving in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael decided to make New York City her home in the wake of she was a part of the Brooklyn Academy of Music produced the critically acclaimed production. Yael has co-founded The Cannery. Based at Bushwick, Brooklyn, the The Cannery promotes new writing and imaginative, inventive ventures.
