Tessa Thompson

Tessa Lynn Thompson, an actor and songwriter who hails from Los Angeles was born in 1983. Thompson is the daughter and grandaughter of singer Marc Anthony Thompson, as and actor Bobby Ramos. Her childhood was spent with her in Los Angeles, before she relocated to Brooklyn. She is of Mexican, British Isles and Afro-Panamanian descent. Thompson went to Santa Monica High School where she performed in numerous theater productions. She enrolled in Santa Monica College after graduation and earned a cultural anthropology degree. For her role as Juliet the character in William Shakespeare's play "Romeo and Juliet" at an Pasadena California production at The Boston Court Theatre. It was her performance that earned her the NAACP Theatre nomination the same year. Away from the theatre and on the stage, Tessa had her first television appearance in the CBS show
